Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Our new favorite spot! We’ve already been here twice and definitely plan on going again. Everything about this place is absolutely amazing! The food is 🤤 every single item down to our mint lemonade was delicious. I can’t wait to go back again and try another item. I’m hoping to try everything on the menu. Don’t even get me started on the desserts! These are the best vegan cakes I’ve ever had! They nailed the tres leches perfectly. I’m so grateful for gems like these specially being a vegan latina. Thank you 🙏 friends for a wonderful experience and putting love in every bite.
I went to The Grain Café on Venice Boulevard this afternoon, and, unfortunately, the food arrived cold. It was supposed to be hot. I went to wipe off the patio table before the food arrived, and the white napping was covered in black specs of dirt, probably from exhaust fumes. I asked to have the table cleaned off again. I noticed that this Grain Caré had a B rating from the Department of Health, and so I asked to see the official report. A second waitress informed me that the report was not at the restaurant, and that the person who was in charge of the Health Report comes in infrequently, thus the report would not be available for me to read it in the future, either. The second waitress even shared with me that the cooks on duty today were just in training and might not have prepared the meal the way it was supposed to be done. Simply, the food was mediocre at best, and the waitress was not watching the tables, as the table next to mine spilled some water on their table. After waiting for the waitress, who did not appear, the lady at the table stood up to go look for napkins herself. The feeling from this restaurant was one of not really caring about the customer's experience. They kept me waiting for a very long time, over 30 minutes, to try and figure out howto resolve this issue. This was really a very simple matter. Yet, no one was competent enough to make a decision and move on. There was no Manager on Duty at The Grain Café, and so another Manager from another restaurant tried her best to help by telephone. Save yourself the bother and skip this restaurant altogether.
This place is on my starred. Vegan and so delicious!! Everything I tasted was perfect and made with love. Would def come back. The desserts are amazinggggg. I’m usually not a sweets person but since I could eat everything on the menu, I took it to go. Completely forgot to snap a photo but it was so good.
The hot maca latte feels like a nice warm hug. & the green smoothie was so delicious! I love this place to also work ! It’s peaceful & homey!! A true gem
The Grain Cafe in Culver City on Venice blvd did it again ! Every time I try something different,,, and let me tell you , they never disappoint. I ordered for delivery it was a wet burrito in green sauce ! I love the vegan chicken ! Everything is delicious . Also the guy who answers the phone is always so pleasant, courteous, and professional. For someone that is going vegetarian, I always find it easy to eat something I am craving without the meat . Thanks guys
