I'm so happy with my treatment and care at Playa Ortho with Dr. Courtney. TL;DR They communicated clearly to ensure my jaw surgery worked with my treatment plan, they're friendly and responsive, they provided a clean and high-tech office, and they worked with my unique timeline. Originally I had an open bite, crooked teeth, and a very misaligned jaw, and I definitely wanted Invisalign, not braces. I consulted with a few orthodontists in LA, and I picked Dr. Courtney because she could work with Invisalign to get my results, and she provided a very balanced recommendation for treatment with or without jaw surgery, and she wasn't pushy! Dr. Courtney was honest and clear in our free consultation: we could straighten my teeth as much as possible via Invisalign without surgery, but it wouldn't be perfectly straight because of my asymmetrical jaw. Surgery is tough, but I'm healthy and I can take time off to recover. I made an informed decision to get surgery because I wanted a comprehensive aesthetic result, and it was WORTH IT. I really appreciate that the office is women-led and I've always had a good experience when a female doctor or technician works on my teeth. Dr. Courtney knows what she's doing, and she worked efficiently without hurting my gums whatsoever. (Male orthos/dentists/technicians are not gentle.) Plus, I like that I can text the office and get a timely response. I had ~1 year of Invisalign, then jaw surgery, then 1.5 years of Invisalign to finish. Playa Ortho worked with me closely to make sure I could get my appointments and surgery in my timeline (I did jaw surgery at UCLA because of my insurance). They also were super helpful with insurance coordination and I felt very confident that the team was acting in my best interest. Now, I smile in photos and I love the way I look. I did Invisalign treatment here and very happy with the results! Office is nice and clean and stuff is friendly. Both doctors are nice and answered all of my questions. It took me years to get together and do teeth straightening even though I disliked my smile a lot. Now I’m so happy about how it looks like! I highly recommend you to go, get a quote and do the treatment, it adds so much to self confidence.
