Is this your business?
Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
At Badmaash in LA, our experience was rather underwhelming. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Poutine, Bombay Mussels, and Chicken Samosas. The Chicken Tikka Poutine was notably dry—the chicken itself was just average, nothing exceptional. The Bombay Mussels carried an odd, unpleasant odor that was hard to pinpoint, and the Chicken Samosas, while crisp on the outside, were disappointingly flavorless on the inside.
If you’re looking for a culinary adventure that brings a modern twist to Indian cuisine, look no further than Badmaash in Downtown LA. This restaurant is a hidden gem that perfectly blends traditional flavors with a contemporary flair, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is stylish yet comfortable, and the vibrant artwork adds a touch of personality that reflects the rich culture of India. Now, let’s get to the food! I started my meal with the Tandoori Chicken Wings, and they were absolutely fantastic. The smoky, spicy marinade was packed with flavor, and the accompanying mint chutney was the perfect cooling complement. Then came the Butter Chicken, which was nothing short of divine. The creamy tomato sauce was rich and luscious, and it paired beautifully with the garlic naan that I couldn't get enough of! I also tried the Badmaash Burger, which is a standout on the menu. It’s a unique fusion of flavors with a perfectly seasoned beef patty topped with Indian spices and served with crispy fries. It’s a bold take on a classic that truly works! To top off my meal, I indulged in the Mango Lassi, which was refreshing and the ideal sweet finish to a flavorful feast. The service was exceptional too—friendly and knowledgeable staff who were eager to recommend their favorites, making the experience even more enjoyable. Badmaash is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Indian cuisine with a modern twist that caters to all palates. Whether you’re a fan of Indian food or a curious foodie looking to try something new, this place is a culinary delight that shouldn’t be missed. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their creative dishes!
Not your traditional Indian food restaurant but I really wanted to try the poutine and that was very good and filling. My standout dish was the fried fish appetizer that had delicious flavor. Butter chicken with naan was the most traditional and tasty. This is a good modern fusion restaurant. A little dark and loud but that's the vibe they want, I went with my dad who wanted a little bit more traditional fare but he still thought the food was good. Pricing was fair for the area but definitely a little bit of a splurge. Went on a weeknight without a reservation and was able to get a seat, No problem. I could see they're being a wait on busier days.
Food was great; service was amazing; the atmosphere not all that great. Let’s start by saying parking is not pretty. Then again parking downtown LA already sucks. We ending up parking 2 blocks away. The atmosphere might seem great; but when you have to pull out a flash light to read the menu, then you know the lighting is a little low. Oh by the way, we were on the upper level. All that aside, the food was delicious!! It looks like the infamous butter chicken sandwich was replaced with spicy lamb burger. At least they still had the butter chicken poutine
I’m not really sure what the hype is about this place. There’s no effort in the ambiance inside at all, it’s super dark and there’s this projector showing some old Indian movie to a crowd of a bunch of people not even interested in watching it, and the food is not great at all. We ordered the butter chicken samosas, the chicken tikka poutine, the mussels curry and the ghost lamb curry and there isn’t a single dish I would recommend. As the chicken poutine would get cold, the gravy would turn gooey, the mussels curry tasted nothing Indian and there’s no effort put into the lamb curry at all. And the worse part was the chai. This place is overly priced and the service wasn’t even great as well. As someone who eats a lot of Indian food, especially at home, I’ll never return here again. (I’ve uploaded pictures of the food with my review but don’t let the looks deceive you).
